All Solid Battery
Overview
All solid batteries adopt the solid electrolytes instead of liquid electrolytes which are being used for Li ion batteries.
Located between anode and cathode, solid electrolyte serves as an ion conductor and a separator.
Advantages
All solid batteries have no flammable organic solvents, so it's very safe even in harsh condition.
All solid batteries can reduce auxillaries and increase active materials, so it allows higher energy density by a new anode system or bipolar structure.
In addition, the sulfide all solid batteries have a wide range of operating temperature,
so they are applicable to various fields including not only EVs but also military applications.
To-Do
There is no standardized technology yet due to technical obstacles.
Performance of solid electrolytes should be improved and mass production of solid electrolytes and batteries should be secured.
Cost competitiveness should be secured to compete against Li ion batteries.
